Elderslie

WALLACE DAY

There is a march which leaves from Ludovick Square in Johnstone, and this progresses roughly one mile to the site of Wallace's birth, marked by the monument in Elderslie.
Speeches are given here in the shadow of the monument, and beside the ruins of the Wallace family property and the famous Wallace Yew tree.
There are snacks available in the cafe set up within Elderslie Village Hall, and various stalls are set up here, including the Society's own, selling our merchandise. This from noon onwards.
There is an evening event in the hall featuring bands and musicians, all with a very Scottish flavour.

Braemar

Braemar 2008

In commemoration to the raising of the Jacobite Standard of 1715. Crann Tara will hold a ceremony at the site where the standard was raised.
Before this we will pay respects to Peter Grant also know as The Old Dubrach ‘ The Kings Auldest Enemy’  who lies in a small grave yard a short distance away. Depending on number we can march or walk up to the site where the standard was raised, which is only a five minute walk. Times and more in depth details will be forth coming. As the queen attends the highland games, which is on that day and passes the spot where the standard was raised, hopefully it won’t create a conflict of interest!!!! or perhaps a possible invite could be arranged  to unfurl the standard.
